Tea-pot with fruits

This is one of Gauguin's still lifes. He chose tropical fruit as his subject of study. The composition is interesting and the colours catch our eye.

A haera oe i hia?

The picture is very similar to the last one. The composition is almost the same apart from the fact that the main character is holding a scarf round her waist.

Eu haere ia oe?

At the front there is a woman standing with a big fruit.She's got a suntan and probably she is an inhabitant of Haiti. In the background her acquaintances observing her.

Nafea faa ipoipo?

The women are sitting one close to the other. The message of the drawing may seem ambigious. The colours are very tropical and vivid. Surely it's the influence of Haiti on Gauguin.

Breton girls at the sea cost

Gauguin depicted two little girls. This drawing is not very beautiful. I would say it is simply plain. Gauguin used to paint figures using very sharp lines. It is typical of him.
