A bunch of parrot tulips

Parrot tulips are my favourite as you probably know. In the vase they are in different position. Some of them are straight some lean over the ground.

Silver parrot

Again my favourite parrot tulips. This one is called "silver parrot". I like the colour and shape. The lines are a bit blurred.

Yellow tulips

These tulips are grown mostly in rock gardens. The flowers look like small stars scattered on the ground.

A girl with a big smile

The picture makes me feel more cheerful and childish. It reminds me of my childchood. The drawing was done frome an old calendar.

Still life with peppers

This drawing was prepared from a magazine article. It was about Mexico and as you can see there are many fruits and vegetables that hail from this country. I like the background where the ocean is depicted.

Ladybirds on the field flower

I like this drawing though it's quite small. I don't really see ladybirds in fine arts but it's such a graceful subject of study.

Tea-pot with fruits

This is one of Gauguin's still lifes. He chose tropical fruit as his subject of study. The composition is interesting and the colours catch our eye.

A haera oe i hia?

The picture is very similar to the last one. The composition is almost the same apart from the fact that the main character is holding a scarf round her waist.

Eu haere ia oe?

At the front there is a woman standing with a big fruit.She's got a suntan and probably she is an inhabitant of Haiti. In the background her acquaintances observing her.

Nafea faa ipoipo?

The women are sitting one close to the other. The message of the drawing may seem ambigious. The colours are very tropical and vivid. Surely it's the influence of Haiti on Gauguin.

Breton girls at the sea cost

Gauguin depicted two little girls. This drawing is not very beautiful. I would say it is simply plain. Gauguin used to paint figures using very sharp lines. It is typical of him.

Model with curly hair

This time my idea was to draw a model. I particularly like the ethnic pattern on the kerchief. The additional effect was sunny light on the left part whereas the other side is in shade.

A boy in a straw hat

Recently I've made up my mind to start drawing children. They are such a sweet topic of study. One of my works is a boy in a straw hat. I like the summer nature of the picture especially the sunny reflections at the back of the figure.

Model with a blue kerchief

Some time have passed and I come back with some drawings, tulips, flowers and portraits. This time a portrait of a lady. It's tropical and colourful. The woman is a model beauty. I think it's much harder to draw somebody with wrinkles.

Peony with fresias

The characteristic feature of this drawing is a set of striking colours. For some people it seems offputting but to me it's all right. To my mind strong colours make a drawing more vivid and alive. Besides, colours emphasize flower beauty.

Sea shells 3

It's not my intention to torment you but here are my third sea shells. ( I 've got more of them prepared). They differ only in arrangement from the other 2 drawings. I don't want to show off with my skills. The point is that I like shells. In general I love marine art and shells are somehow a part of it. In the future I'm going to display coral-reefs and tropical fish.

Narcissus surrounded by roses

The composition is nice. The flowers look like they were brought from a florist's shop and arranged in a vase. I consider them common though some people say they are original.

This time there is going to be a change 'cause there are the roses instead of tulips. This bouquet looks like a typical bunch of flowers straight from a florist's shop. Somebody praised me for drawing the roses. Some say it takes much time and effort however I made it. The outcome you can admire above.

Prof. Roentgen

This tulip has got the significant name Prof. Roentgen. It's my favourite tulip variety 'cause it's a parrot one. It's magnificent and garnished with dew drops. The orange-red petals are carved. Extraordinary.

West Point

Today I want to add new tulips to my collection. They are lilly-shaped and named West Point. I associate them with stars because they have similar shapes. In the background you can see a melange. In my opinion van Gogh enjoyed painting such a mixture of colours.

Ballade

This tulip variety is named Ballade like a beautiful song. The calyxes are great and purple. When the sun shines they open up.When I saw the photo of Ballade I was surprised at the thought that they are tulips. It's just because they don't resemble them at all. Funny, isn't it?

Bright parrot

Once again tulips, my favourite parrot ones of course. This type has got very large flowers. They are so heavy that they lean to the ground. The tulips are very decorative especially their calyxes.

Stresa

van Gogh adored sunflowers and I love tulips. (though I cannot compare myself to this great artist). This time I want to display tulips behind the fence. They are called Stresa and are red and yellow. I think that looking at them makes me feel more cheerful.

Green Wave

I intended to wait some time in order to introduce my new drawings but time flies. I made up my mind and I'm gonna do it now. The subject is tulips. I admire them so much. Lately I have purchased a book about tulips with beautiful photos in it. The photos were the basis of my inspiration. I particularly like parrot tulips. They have extraordinary petals and are as colourful as real parrots. One of them is presented above. Its name is Green Wave.

Nocturnal painting

This drawing is so rich that I wouldn't be afraid to call it a baroque style. I like navy blue and pink in this picture. It looks like a nocturnal painting because the colours are a bit dark (at least a part of them).

Again tropical shells

I don't want to make you feel bored but these are again the sea shells. They look similar to the ones presented before. The difference is their arrangement in the golden background. I drew them using a pencil, pastels and of course a gold paint. The shells are so pretty that I consider them almost royal that's why I use gold.

My own van Gogh

Here are the sunflowers. It's my interpretation of van Gogh's painting. The flowers are in bloom and come from the same cheap calendar. By the way, flowers are the most frequent subject of my drawing. I like their feminine nature. They are fragile and colourful. When they are on the wall, they can make the space of the room alive.

Tropical sea shells

This drawing is square and smaller than the other two. It is of course my design. My idea was to place a set of sea shells of different shapes and sizes in the golden painted background. I remember my mother who got the shells from a greengrocer vendor. Thanks to her I could set to work. I associate shells with tropical seas and fish. The colours are fantastic and shapes are excellent.

Another day on the web

Boats, boats and again boats like in the National Geographic magazine. I draw mostly flowers but this drawing is an exeption. I sometimes wonder where is this place presented in the picture. What do you think? I don't remember the newspaper I cut out the picture of the boats from. I had to focus a lot in order to capture the details

A vase of flowers

The first drawing I'd like to show you is a bunch of flowers. It's very detailed and at the same time it's my favourite one. Before I drew it I had bought a cheap calendar in a news-stand and there was a page on which this bouquet of flowers was depicted. It's eyecatching and colourful. I love it. I hope you like it as well.

I'm happy to be here

Welcome everyone to my new blog. Now it's rather empty but I'm going to fill it with my drawings. I decided to create such a blog , because I'm intrested in art and I draw a little bit. Maybe my masterpieces as not as perfect as you may think but I did my best and with time I will present them to you. My drawings are made by means of dry pastels. I use Derwent pastels. ( I shouldn't reveal it 'cause it's an advertisment). Anyway, for me they are the best and have very natural colours. I've never tried oily pastels but I hope to do it in the near future. On my site I'm going to add some comments to each works so that you will find out who inspired me and so on and so forth.
