"Speckled butterfly"

There was a short break and now I'm coming back with another butterfly. It's fabulously colourful. It's hard not to draw one's attention to it. One drawback is that the background shouldn't be as colourful as the butterfly itself. But who cares. Next time I will know not to make such a various background. It's like with a make-up. You shouldn't underline eyes when lips have already been underlined. It applies to my drawings.
PS I thought out a crazy idea to draw the paintings from the Sistine Chapel. That would be a challenge, isn't it? But I need more colour pencils to face it.

"Grand moth"

Hi again! Today I'm gonna scare you with another moth, though it's not as impressive as the previous one. Just an ordinary moth. You see that such scary animals can be also admirable. It depends on your point of view and taste.
People can be depicted by means of animals. Some of them are sleepy and lazy like cats, some talkative like parrots and you-what animal are you? My personality is a selection of animals. Sometimes I can be even like a little piggy. Funny, isn't it?

"A speckled butterfly"

Today a new , speckled butterfly. Though it's simple, it looks like it was about to raise from the ground. This effect is achieved by the specific lines of colour on his wings. Thus, it looks more dynamic. Though, the background is sort of boring, it helps focus on the butterfly itself.
Today is Friday. To my surprise, it's snowing, although it's not winter yet. Christmas is already on my mind. My window looks out on a church spire with a big, silver cross. It reminds me of "Memento mori".

"A green butterfly"

Green is the colour of hope that's why I chose a black-green butterfly. I hope for a better future. I like the differntiated background depicting flowers. Today I had a hard day, but life is hard-so they say. I hope you like the butterfly. There are more of them to be shown on display.
Have a nice watching, Ela.

"Blue butterfly"

Today a new butterfly. I'm amazed by its ultramarine and sky blue colours. The intersting fact is that this insect is so big. Maybe the photo is to blame. Drawing butterflies is a lot of fun, because they demand only a stroke of pastel, nothing more, no shadowing for example. That's incredible how each animal species is different, unique. It applies to human beings where everyone is special. He's like a butterfly with his unique set of colours. It's no use comparing oneself to others, because everyone is like a unique, tropical butterfly.
I'll tell you something. All my life I was thinking that grey is something I should avoid. Some time ago I read an aricle about a woman Marta Gessler- you can even see her portrait on my blog-this is the woman in a blue blouse. She adores grey and runs a restaurant where there are grey, raw walls. Her house has no wallpaper and thus it's also grey.
What I want to convey to you is the fact that what you think is wrong with you, cannot necessarily be so. It depends on your point of view. I'm obviously not talking about your horrendous drawbacks which need changing.
Have a nice watching, Ela.

"Great moth"

Are you afraid of moths? I am. Especially when they bump against a window pane at dusk. I detest them and somehow cannot overcome my fear. However, I'm not afraid of butterflies. I find them soft and timid. They say that in the Amazon jungle great moths live. I cannot imagine their size, but it must be terrifying and disgusting. Here you have a great moth-unusual, embellished in beautiful colours. Such moths are worth admiring, aren't they? Such an insect is a work of art. In general, nature is a masterpiece, something amazing, so detailed. It's hard to believe that it was created out of nowhere like a big bang.

"A speckled butterfly"

Today is rainy and cloudy, though I'm gonna cheer you up with my next butterfly. The speckled one is sitting on a yellow flower. I'm amazed that this picture has the most views on Flickr. That's strange. What I don't like in this picture and didn't manage to fix is the fact that the petals are in one colour, not a melange of colours. It would make the drawing more differentiated. Actually, the drawings of butterflies were done according to a calendar. I like their colours, but what I don't accept is that they look like child's drawings- in fact some people like such art.
Have a nice watching, Ela.

"Peacock eye"

Today is Sunday. The weather was sunny with scattered clouds in the sky. Here you see my next butterfly- a "peacock's eye"- at least they call it so in Polish. It's a very typical butterfly, sitting on smelly liliac flowers. The butterfly is ordinary, but at the same time beautiful.
I've just said before that I'm a closed person. True. But I thought over the idea of suffering 'cause I felt such remorse, pain and grief to God that I stayed in pain for so many years. Why he did it to me?! And the answer came in a second that the glass of suffering is not the same for everyone. Pain is something relative. It makes me feel the way other people feel. Thus , I can understand them. It's just how it works, as simple as that. When you don't suffer, you are not able to feel the way somebody in pain feels. It teaches you empathy.
Have a nice night, Ela.

"2 butterflies"

Hi, what a day is today. I prepared another butterfly from the collection, actually butterflies. There are 2 of them. They look as if they were just about to raise from the ground. I think that the background and their colours reflect their light, effortless nature. I thought over the idea wheather insert any thoughts by Pawlikowska or P. Coelho or not. I came to the conclusion that it's not in my nature. It's not the way I feel 'cause I'm rather a closed person and not eager to share my experiences with the audience(apart from drawings and my reflections on them). That's why don't expect from me any internal musings. Everything I have to offer is my art. This is what I like most and enjoy doing. In the end my art will last. That is my testimony.
Have a nice watching, Ela.

"Another butterfly"

Today a new butterfly. This time an orange one in the green background. This drawing looks like one from the 60-ties when sharp colours were in vogue. I think that my drawings, especially this one, reflect that I'm not quite normal. In fact, it's hard to evaluate art. It's an area where everything is relative. Some people like Nikifor, some like Picasso and so on. My favourite artist is van Gogh. He looked for his unique way of expression. He could even paint 2 suns in the sky. I try to step in his shoes and here we have an eyecatching background which was invented by me. I have another 9 butterflies to display on show, so be patient.
Have a nice day, Ela.

New portion of drawings

Hi, welcome to my blog. Today a new portion of drawings. This time , depicting butterflies. They were not so hard to draw, just a few strokes of pastel. I regret the fact that their nature is not shown properly. I mean, they are not as delicate as they are in real life but nobody is perfect.
I'd like to start with the orange butterfly. I like the colour very much. In general, orange is the colour of life. It's so vivid and delightful. Not only butterflies but nature in general is so various, different. That's it. Have a nice watching.
To end it all, I'd like to add a golden thought by P. Coelho:"The glass of suffering is not the same for everyone."

"The spring of the Amazon"

Hi, I had a break and didn't run my blog continuously. That's why I try to stick to the timetable and insert a few words each day. Thanks to Pawlikowska I'm able to write about wise things, about life. In general, she helps me understand the mechanism of life, why something happens, what to change in me and how to treat myself. You know , I sometimes wonder why I make a certain choice i.e: a job, a man, etc. In my case, I regret taking part in a course for caretakers of elderly people. First of all, it was a waste of time and besides, when I started practising as a caretaker I decided that it's definetly not for me. That job is so intimate, you look at old naked bodies, wash them, feed them. The elderly throw tantrums , forget about many things and are so sensitive about themselves. It's taugh. I asked often what I did it for. Why I chose such a course and the answer was in Pawlikowska's book. She says that we make choices in life. They are not necessarily good once, but we learn from our mistakes and by making choices we discover what our passion is. It's like with the Amazon river. It was not a wide river from the start but a small spring. It applies to life. We start from small things and move on to greater ones- from small, meaningless jobs to important job posts i.e: as a boss. That's life. Pawlikowska's philosophy helped me realize that taking care of elderly people is not for me and I don't find it appealling. I discovered that truth by taking a chance.
Today a new pice of wisdom by P. Coelho:"The joy of work opens the door to heaven for us, love changes us and proper choices lead us to God."
Have a nice night, bye.

"Zahir"

Today a short post from me. It's from P. Coelho's "Zahir":
"The warrior of light never forgets to show gratitude. In his fight he was supported by angels, godly powers maintained order, letting him to fulfill his task as best as he could. That's why when the sun sets down, the warrior kneels down and thanks the Carring Attire, which saves him. His companions will say: He was lucky. However, he knows, that happiness is an ability of searching for friends around, which don't believe in death and can live as if each new day was the last one in their rambles."
It's getting late, that's why I don't want to think anything over. Good night.

"Zanzibar"

This day is sort of unique, 'cause I bought a book and managed to read it over. Which is a success. It was about Zanzibar and I found out many facts which have been unknown to me before. First of all, to let you know, Zanzibar is an island situated at the east coast of Africa, right in the middle. It's tropical and known for the production of spices, the exchange of slaves and ivory. Many interesting stories are described in the book. What I found most interesting are facts about spices i.e: that curry is a spice consisting of many substances, curcuma is a root which is dried and is good for digestion. The other facts I failed to translate properly. At the end of the book I found interesting words by Pawlikowska :" I always choose positive thinking. I don't think what I lack but I find joy in what I have and perceive that I have a lot. This is the secret of happiness." It so hard to see what we really have, because we compare ourselves to others. We finally realize what we have when we loose it.
Today a new thought by P. Coelho:"The best way of immersing in God is Love."
Have a good day, Ela.

"I need strenght."

Hi. Today is a grey weather, 'cause it autumn time. Though, it doesn't impact my mood. Now, it's going to be a short post. I still want to focus on Pawlikowska's philosophy and repeat to myself: I have to be strong! I need to be strong! In this way I want to overcome difficulties and weaknesses, which I've got a lot. They are just words, but how powerful. In fact, you think in words and everything depends on what you think. And when black thoughts are on my mind, I have to repeat to myself: Don't think about it! Just don't! Those black thoughts often concern my looks. It's a burden to me. Somehow, I often think that if I were more good-looking, my life would be more happy- which is misleading. Who's gonna quarantee it for me?
Today, a new piece of thought by P. Coelho: " It sometimes happens that happiness is a gift, but many times you should fight for it. The magic moment of the day helps us change ourselves and order us to discover our dreams."

"Great Sunday"

Today is a lazy Sunday. I've already been to church and feel as holy as I've never been before. What is holiness? What does it mean to be holy? Is it important to be holy in the face of the Church? Maybe it is more important to be honest towards oneself. I don't give a damn what other people say, because their opinion is changeable. It's more important what I think about myself, about my way of acting. Am I just, truthful, faithful, keep a promise given to myself? Do I accept the way I am? Some time ago, I heard a statement that if you don't love yourself , you don't love God, because God is in you. It doesn't mean that you become as powerful as God, but you are a living creature and deserve love. The purest kind of love can be given only to you and by you. It's as simple as that, but how hard to fulfill. Each day , I find so many drawbacks and cry over myself as hell, though I know it's pointless. I got used to whipping myself. It's an addiction. I'm trying to find who is to blame for such a situation. Maybe it was my parents who condemned and punished me a lot. Though, they did what they could to provide what I needed most. Man makes mistakes. In fact , I can change it. And as Pawlikowska says: if I find strenght in myself, that strenght will multiply and I'll find more power to move on.
It is a short post but how illuminating.
Today a new thought by P. Coelho:"We are not alone. The world is changing along with us. Angels lead and protect us."
Have a nice day, Ela.

"Hello again"

Hello today. I have to tell you that I have a special day today, because I got a magazine: "Traveller" about journeys. It doesn't mean that I'm going to reach any destination, but I want some enlightment. In fact, I realized that my knowledge about the world is like a big void. It's scary but true. My favourite country is Italy. I'm interested in its culture. It attracts me a lot. I've been to Italy twice and I'm fascinated by that country , especially by its cuisine. It's so unbelievable how that world is small and great at the same time.
Pawlikowsa is also fascinated by the world. She is a tirelles traveller. It was not always so. She went through many ordeals. She suffered from bulimia, anorexia. She was on the verge of alcohoism. The time has come when she realized that she is somebody special, unique, that she should follow her dreams. Her biggest dream was travelling. She did everything to fulfill it. In particular, Pawlikowska wanted to go to the Amazon jungle. It was her destination.
According to her you should have your own dream and try to fulfill it, because it would make sense in your life. Pawlikowska says that everything in your life comes on time. Everything has its own time. You cannot make something happen faster. You need special events and thoughts that would make something possible. In Pawlikowska's case the situation was the same. She worked and waited patiently to fulfill her travelling dreams. She saved money, many times denying tasty proucts from her menu. Are you ready for such a devotion? I'm not.
You know what. I'll tell you that having a blog is a stunning idea, because it enables me to open towards others. Maybe by sharing my knowledge with you , I'll help you in a way. What do you think?
Today a new thought by P. Coelho: "We are going through the world following our dreams and ideals. Many times, something what is unreachable, is close at hand."

" Pawlikowska's teaching"

Hello again! Times goes by and in a month's time there will be Christmas. Do you have any presents for your relatives? I don't. Not yet. Today, I want to speak my mind and say a few things about Pawlikowska. Her words are a turning point to me. It's striking that she has an impact on me. I start thinking about many things, about myself, about many mistakes. You are blind as long as you meet somebody who is wise enough to teach you. Pawlikowska is such a person to me. I realize that in fact, I don't think at all in my life, at least I sometimes think that I don't think the way she does. I'm so much influenced by pop culture, by models on the cover of magazines, by superficial beauty. I don't see what is true and what is not.
I'd like to quote Pawlikowska's words: "A man who regains self-trust, starts trusting other peole. When he gets rid of the fear of being hurt, he will learn how to show and get friendship. Then tormenting loneliness and pain will disappear." I must say that I sometimes think that I'm such a failure. I lost trust to myself, because I experienced disappointment so many times. However, the point is that I should look at my failures from a different perspective, because we shouldn't demand from life to be perfect, that we don't encounter any trouble. Nobody can assure us that everything is going to be all right. It's so hard to trust myself and it's true that I'm afraid of being with other people. Really, I don't feel like openening towards others. I feel such a blocade. Pawlikowska is such a brain washing to me, because in many aspects she is right.
Today, a piece of wisdom by P. Coelho:"Good and Evil have the same face. Everything depends on when they stand on our way of life."
Have a nice day, Ela.

" A rainy day"

I promised myself to insert a new post each day, though it's without a drawing. Today it's raining cats and dogs and the weather is gloomy. However, I feel nice. I'm just wondering what to write today. I'm constantly thinking over Pawlikowska's philosophy. I'm aware of the fact that I would infringe her copywrites if I quoted exactly what she said. That's why I'll try to provide her knowledge in my own words. I must say that her words are a turning point to me.
Pawlikowska says that if you hate yourself, you think that you have control over your life. It's misleading. First of all, because that feeling destroys you from inside and besides, other people feel unconciously your hatred and turn their backs on you. Love yourself, because in real life only you are the most faithful friend towards yourself. When you reject yourself, your soul is lost, forsaken, unloved. You should accept your soul without comparing to others, because you are unique. There is nobody in the world like you. Only you can also understand yourself best.
I'm trying to stick to Pawlikowska's rules and accept myself the way I am, but it's so hard to me. It's complicated, because I was rejected many times by other people. If they push me away, I think that I deserve it. That it is my fault, that something is wrong with me. I long so much for their acceptance that I forget about my acceptance to myself.
Following Pawlikowska's advice I try to talk to myself in my mind. It helps because I realize my deepest feelings. I'm sometimes ashamed of them. It's unbelievable how complicated a personality can be.
Today, a new piece of wisdom by P. Coelho:" History will change its course if we start using the power of love as well as we use the power of wind, oceans, atom."
Have a nice day, Ela.

"The warrior of light"

Today again an empty post. I came to the conclusion that it could be better to add a photo if there is lack of drawings. However, I don't have a digital camera, so it would be a little bit tricky otherwise. Yesterday, I did something good. I don't know how to start. First of all, I started attending "artistic classes" - there I learn different techniques in art. In that way I'm able to make an angel, a cat, a drawing done with a string and lots of other things. And it was exactly yesterday when I had a chat with my teacher. She told me about her difficulties with English. She is so motivated to learn it, but her efforts are in vain. I'll tell you what. I know what she feels 'cause I feel the same. Language is a curious phenomenon. You cannot acquire it without an effort. I thought it over and found out that learning a language should be enjoyable. It should be fun, effortless, introduced in a play, song , poem. This is my view. Yours can be different. I think that in that conversation I helped her a lot.
Now , I'll move on to Pawlikowska. I'm reading her book "In the jungle of uncertainity" and something struck me. The book is based on her emails to a girl- Marta. What I found out and want to share it with you. (Maybe in this way I'll help you.) This goes as follows: even if you think that you are ugly, rejected, in pain that is not important. The point is that your soul is more important than you think. Appearance is something that is irrelevant and superficial , 'cause everyone is beautiful in a way. What I mean that by helping others , by opening towards others, changing your environment you'll be filled with the feeling of love, of being needed. This is the most striking thing I've ever heard. The point is that I often feel ugly, strange, feel that I don't belong here. That motto opened my eyes. How wise it is, isn't it? What do you think, share your opinion with me.
Now a golden thought by P. Coelho, because I know that it is sometimes beneficial to ponder a wise motto like words from the Holy Bible.
"We are the warriors of light. We can change our and others' fate with the power of will and love."
Have a nice day, Ela.

"What a day!"

Today, another post without a drawing. It's hard to say, but they are not so eyecatching without it. However, I'm still working on butterflies but much time left in order to finish them all 'cause there are as many as 12 photos. You know what, I'm dreaming of having a digital camera in order to take photos. On the basis of them I'm going to prepare pictures. One advantage of it is that I can insert photos on the computer without going to a photographer. Actually, it's my new dream.
Now about Pawlikowska, she writes about loving oneself. I must say that it's so difficult for me to be loving towards myself. I'm still working on it. Pawlikowska writes that only your love can fill the emptiness and solitude in your heart. You are lonely, because you don't love yourself. Because you think that other people decide wheater you deserve respect and love. And you are the one who can respect, love and develop yourself without comparing yourself to others. In fact, a man is a collection of many features, which are unique and you see only one of them i.e: beauty, a talent. Instead of comparing and crying over yourself, you can set yourself a goal and fulfill it without looking back at others.
When I think of it, it's enough to introduce all of it to your life. Practice makes perfect, so they say. But I try to see my advantages , because everyone has them. Each day is different and so I am. Have a try!
Today a new thought by P. Coelho: "If in a Good Fight you cannot count on your friends' support, your strenght can become loneliness."
Have a nice day, Ela.

"Hakuna matata"

To your surprise, a post is now without a drawing. However, I'm still working on butterflies. I hope to be ready to exhibit them more or less in a month's time. I'm fascinated with butterflies, especially those in pictures. In particular, I'm fond of butterflies migrating to Canada. They have orange wings and are really stunning. When I think of these animals, the National Geographic magazine crosses my mind. There, you can find inspiring pictures.
When Pawlikowska publishes a book, she always promotes the National Geographic magazine, because she writes for it. She doesn't write about travel only. She is wise and she shares her experience with others. Recently, I've grasped her interesting motto:" If you don't like something in yourself, wait untill that drawback becomes an advantage. Interesting stuff, isn't it? Sometimes, there are features you are not able to change. What do you have to do in such a situation? Well, you have to be more humble towards life.
Now, something funny also from Pawlikowska's book:"Blondynka na safari". I suppose you probably know the expression: "Hakuna matata!" which means no problem, don't worry in Suahili. There is a snag here. You have to memorize that phrase correctly, because when you change the last letter, you'll have: "Hakuna matiti", which means : She has no tits and "Hakuna matako", which means: She has no bum. So, be watchful.
Have a nice day, Ela.

"Iris"

This drawing was done according to a cover of a magazine. I found out on flickr that actually irises are called "flags" in English. They are quite greatful flowers where you can study different shades of violet. I remember a painting by van Gogh but I don't remember it's name. It depicted a group of irises growing along a ginger path. A funny thing about them is that my cat devours them with pleasure. When I bring a bunch of irises home, he jumps on the table and bites pieces of them off. He does it in the case of irises only. Funny, isn't it?
Now about plants and their customs. I was never interested in it untill I read Pawlikowska's book: "Blondynka na safari". Plants are living creatures and they have their does and dont's. As an example, I want to tell you about an African plant spieces "Stinking acacia". That plant deters animals with its smell and a substance which changes the taste of its leaves. On a dayly basis that plant grows peacefully and doesn't differ from other species. However, when some animal starts nibbling at its leaves, the stinking acacia starts producing a noxious smell and a poisonous substance, which fills its bark and leaves.
A dissatisfied giraffe leaves its leaves at peace and goes in search of another tree. The stinking acacia worked out a system of "letting other trees know" about a coming danger. The attacked acacia as soon as possible sends an alarming sign to its neighbours, which straight away soak their leaves with their poisonous substance which a giraffe detests. What a strange and stunning custom, isn't it? If you feel like digging deeper in this subject, I recommend books and films by D. Attenborough. He is a known environmentalist. Today, a wise thought by P. Coelho: " The one who has the courage to say what he feels, is in connection with God."
Have a nice day, Ela.

" A pink lily"

This pink lily was done according to a cover of a magazine. It was done quite quickly and without any effort. The thing I like most in this picture is a melange of colours, which makes the drawing dynamic. In general, I like flowers a lot. The variety of them is so enormous that it's hard to embrace them all. I'm fond of Latin names given to them. That's why I provide original Latin names to drawings.
In Pawlikowska's book:"Blondynka na safari"you can find out about different plant species growing in Africa. I want to make you familiar with one story about a baobab tree coming from that very book.
The baobab was one of the first trees created on Earth. But he was never satisfied with what he had. When shortly after him a slender palm tree appeared, the baobab complained that he is too short. When gods created a tree with fiery-red flowers, the baobab complained that he is too grey. When he saw a tree with delicious fruit, he complained and grumbled so much that gods lost patience. A mighty hand pulled the baobab out of the ground and put it again upside down with roots on top and till this day baobabs look as if by mistake they grew upside down. That's the story, a funny one, isn't it? I know a few ones but I'll sort it and reveal gradually.
Today a piece of wisdom by P. Coelho:
" You don't have to know "how" and "where" but before you do whatever, you should ask yourself a question: " What am I doing it for?"

"Sunflowers"

The sunflowers come from a birthday postcard. They are not sophisticated but I like the jug with various patterns on it. Sunflowers are in general a very greatful subject of study. When I say something about sunflowers, I always associate them with van Gogh. His sunflowers are the most known masterpiece in the world. I'm not in love with them as much as van Gogh did. I'm rather fond of tulips. However, I have a commission for sunflowers and I still don't have time to prepare them. To my surprise, many people like them on flickr.
I associate sunflowers with the sun. I suppose it's normal. We need the sun to develop, feel happy, get warm. Allegedly, in countries where there is lack of sunlight people are more prone to depression i.e: in Sweden. I'm just reading Pawlikowska's book:"Blondynka na safari". I realize how cold can be in the morning in Africa. How deceitful can be the sun, leading you to overheating, dewatering and so on and so forth. In nature balance is needed between hot and cold periods. Of course there are places in the world where such balance is broken.
Today a new thought by P. Coelho to raise your spirits: "All power, all knowledge comes from the same unknown source which is called: God."
P.S. Today I prepared a sketch of a butterfly. I suppose it's quite nice.

"Pink tulips with dynamism"

There is nothing original in these tulips, however I introduced some changes , creating a mixture of colours on their petals. It makes them more dynamic. There is one funny thing about them. As usual, they are exhibited on flickr and one girl asked me what the medium was. I was not aware what she meant 'cause I thought that a medium concerns a size. In the end, I stayed silent and provided no information. This is how I impove my language skills - by trial and error.
Now about language and learning it. I must say that I constantly improve my language skills and I do it best in the situational context i.e: I memorize words better when I find myself in a given situation with a foreigner or I'm forced to use a language actively. A year ago, I forced myself to memorize 4 English words each day. I devoted much time to it, improving English a lot. However, my knowledge simply vanished when I didn't revise the vocabulary constantly each day. What is the conclusion? Well, it's good to use a language actively especially in speaking. I'm not a good foreign language speaker, but I remember my mistakes and learn from them. I remember while being in Italy, I was standing downstairs and wanted to ask an old lady to open the door for me. Instead of saying: "Signora Barbara", I said: "Signorina Barbara" and heared a big laughter. In that way I learned the difference. Now I'm learning Italian. I don't devote as much time to it as to English. However, to me it's a pleasure not a toil. I relish every word.
Pawlikowska speaks several languages, among others: Portugese, Spanish and a special type of Spanish spoken in the South America. Allegedly, it's the most beautiful and musical language. I've never known that.
Language is a broad topic. Mind you that thre are 2 types of language: formal and informal. The point is that an official language (formal) differs a lot from an informal one. Normally, in books a formal language is preferred with grammatical rules obeyed. In informal English some grammatical rules are broken, some words are omitted to convey a message faster. I know that because (now be prepared for a surprise) I'm an English teacher. Wow, finally I convinced it.
Now a new piece of wisdom by P. Coelho: "In life we commit many mistakes. It's important not to make the one ,which could destroy us."
Have a nice day, Ela.

"Pink tulips in the rock garden"

These tulips are quite nice. They grow in the rock garden. I found their photo in a book on tulips. I like their colour and shape. I suppose you don't even realize how beatiful tulips can be. I think that every branch of science or an idea can be fascinating when you delve deeper to the core of it. I like flowers a lot that's why I purchase books on them and look through their photos. I develop myself in a way. Apart from flowers I'm interested in a human body. It is so beautiful and exciting. I'm not talking about erotic pictures of course. I study the curves and shapes of the body. Maybe I'll be ready to publish it in a period of time.
Time flies - so they say. In fact, it is a very relative thing. According to Pawlikowska, it is never too late to start doing something you've never done before. It's never too late for a change. It's not about a hobby but about changing yourself. It's the hardest thing. Recently, I've read an extract from a psychological book about applying for somebody's appraisal and acceptance and so on and so forth. It says that you should question your thoughts. Are they really true? What would you feel if you changed your way of thinkng. It's interesting stuff i.e. when you think: I long for his or her acceptance, you should think: I care about my acceptance only. Some of your thoughts should be turned the other way round 'cause everything depends actually on your way of thinking. It makes you happy as well as sad.
Today, a new piece of thought by P. Coelho: "When you long for something, all the universe helps you fulfill your dreams."
Have a nice day, Ela.

"A bunch of tulips in the black backround"

This drawing depicts a bunch of tulips in the black and blue background. It was done according to a long postcard, quite expensive. What would I say about this picture? Actually, it's sort of unfinished, but what I'm fond of is the colours which are luminous to me. I like tulips a lot but here they are not as splendid as they should be. Maybe I'm too ambitious. What do you think?
What does Pawlikowska say about being ambitious? Well, the warrior is never too ambitious. He knows his abilities and skills. His goals are always feasable. He never sets "exaggerated aims". What Pawlikowska emphasizes is that you should set feasable goals and try to reach it step by step. Each day is closer to reaching that goal. Even if you fail to do something perfectly, say to yourself that you've done something as best as you could. There is no point in finding faults with yourself. Nobody is perfect. Being perfect is harmful 'cause you over estimate your skills.
I must say that I'm a perfectionist in a way. There are so many things I would like to do perfectly. Drawing is one of them. What I like in Pawlikowska is that she enjoys being herself. She also draws small pictures and inserts them in her books. They are sweet ones. If you want to look at them, check her site www.oliwkowo.pl. I must learn constantly one thing that there is no use in comparing oneself to others.
Today a new piece of thought by P. Coelho:" For the warrior of light more important from a goal itself is reaching it. Life leads him from one unknown to the other. Each moment is a miraculous secret. The warrior doesn't know where he comes from nor where he aims at."
P.S. I stopped drawing. Today, I will give myself another chance.
Have nice day, Ela.

" A red tulip in bloom"

Some time ago I bought a postcard depicting some tulips in the black backgroud. I chose one of them and tried to present it. Actually, tulips are my favourite flowers. I adore them. Sometimes, I think of van Gogh and his sunflowers though I cannot compare to him. I love tulips as much as he loved his yellow flowers.
Now about love. What is love? Everyone has got a different answer. One thing is certain that we have love inside us. When you love yourself then that love is luminous, radiant and has an impact on other people. According to Pawlikowska when you love yourself you want to change something in you not because you are a failure but you embark on changing yourself out of love to live a better life. How hard is to love oneself. I know that from experience. You always can find something you don't like in yourself. The point is that you find drawbacks in you 'cause you comare yourself to others. According to Pawlikowska such comparisons are harmful , because they generate jealousy. More than that, every human being consists of many particular elements and you see only one of them: beauty, talent. Everyone has to go through his life, everyone is different. Everyone has to fulfill his destiny. A curious thing about life is that it's unforseeable. Nobody knows what will happen in the near future. We don't have any control over it. However, you can impact only yourself. Working on yourself is much harder than you think.
Today a new piece of tought by P. Coelho ( a wise one ): "Two most difficult trials on the way of spiritual development is waiting patiently for the right moment and the courage not to be disappointed by what will happen to us."
P. S. I started drawing butterflies. What a joy!
Have a nice day, Ela.

"Cattleya harrisoniae"

This orchid has an unusual shape with petals in different colours. Orchids can be fabulous, as colourful as it's possible. They look like heavenly flowers. They are tropical, growing among others in the Amazon jungle. That tropical forest is so various, full of colours and wild animals. Insects are huge, great moths, centepedes, poisonous snakes. There, you can feel the ghosts of animals and people. Shamans - people chosen specially to heal and give advice to people, believe in ghosts and have contact with them. The indigenous people of the Amazon jungle believe in good and bad energies - feelings. If you harbour negative emotions: jealousy, hatred and greadiness then you're more likely to get sick.
Pawlikowska describes Indians in the Amazon jungle as very joyful people. They don't play any roles. They are themselves. If they get hurt, they don't swear, they laugh. Indians are not aware of the western civilization and everything connected with it: TV, books, food. However, they are joyful, sincere and simple. The first Pawlikowska's destination was the Amazon - she earned her money to fulfill her biggest dream. There, she finds peace, she calms down and gains energy.
When I think of the Amazon, I often associate it with great butterflies - and you know what? I've bought a calendar with butterflies. If I manage, maybe in 2 months' time I will be prepared to make an exhibition on Flickr. If you feel like looking through it, check my blog for the Flickr link.
Today, a piece of thought by P. Coelho: " Lord, only by accepting our own dreams, we can understand who we are. Amen"

"Epidendrum ciliare"

This drawing is actually an orchid. It looks like an unusual one, isn't it? This orchid grows in the tropical part of America. It's flowers are in bloom for almost 3 years. When I was thinking about orchids, I always imagined typical orchids sold in a shop. Actually, orchids can be as various as nature can be. Here you can see strange flowers like feathers. It's unbelievable how the world is diverse. You can get to know it on TV or in books. Pawlikowska - a traveller, writes about nature and her journeys in her books. If you are interested, check it on www.oliwkowo.pl. There you can find out about her works, read interviews with her and find people with interesting hobbies.
What I like most in Pawlikowska's philosophy is self-respect and " self-friendship". This is the basis of her theory. Only a man who likes and respects himself, is able to reach a desired goal and fulfill his dreams. You are really alone in the world. Only you can understand your depest desires, even those you are not aware of and which are "dormant". Only you can find a solution for many problems. Only you can give yourself faithful and pure love and friendship. You have to be a friend to yourself.
When I read this, I was wondering what I could do in order to love and understand myself. I'll tell you one thing: always before going to sleep I embrace myself ans stay in that position for about 5 minutes. In this way I express love to myself. Maybe it's stupid but I make a small step and each step is important.
Now a new piece of thouht by P. Coelho: " Comandment: remember, that each day is different. Each morning hides a miracle in itself, a magic moment, when the old world is destroyed and a new one is created at its place."
Have a nice day! Ela.

"Coelogyne fuliginosa"

I think what to write about orchids, because they are fascinating stuff to me. This drawing is in fact an orchid. (You probably think that it's not.) They can have different shapes and sizes and the number of flowers on the stem can be various in different orchid species. I don't feel like quoting specific information about them, because it would be sort of boring. One thing is interesting: they can grow in different climate zones, on the ground, on the rock as well as parasites on trees. They can be very demanding as far as cultivating conditions are concerned. However, when you give them what it takes to grow properly, you'll see beautiful and fabulous flowers.
Now, about loneliness. You can be as lonely as that orchid growing on the tree. The point is that the warrior is never lonely. It depends how you look at loneliness. Actually, it's not a bad thing. When you like yourself, it's not a burden, it's a gift. While being alone ,you can think over many things, realize your mistakes, fulfill your dreams. I've heard a funny thing. Maybe it's not to the point but with schizophrenia you're never alone. It's a stupid joke, but how truthful. To be alone and to stand it, one has to tame that loneliness. Everyone is lonely in a way. You can be solitary even in a crowd. The point is that you have to tame that loneliness and start to like it. Personally, I think that I like being alone. However, I've never realized how it's like to be really alone so I don't know it. I wish you that tamed loneliness which is not as hard as it seems.
Today, a new piece of thought by P. Coelho:
" Nobody is a lonely island. To start a Good Fight, we need help."

"Narcissuses2"

I wonder what to write about this drawing. It is quite similar to the previous one. I let myself release my phantasy and made some lines which made the picture more dynamic. The photo of the flowers also comes from tulip bulps. The colours are stunning. When I'm in a shop, I always stop to have a look at flower bulps and photos added to them. The colours are so phantastic and I found out that other people also like them 'cause lots of them check my flickr photos.
I'm just wondering what to write about today. Nothing comes to my mind. Perhaps I'll start with the idea of the warrior. I said that he or she respects himself and other people. He also respects and helps preserve nature. What does it mean? He tries to divide and sort garbage: glass, paper and plastic. He turns off the tap when he washes his teeth. He doesn't use plastic bags , because first of all they choke animals and they don't degradate in the ground. I've never realized it's so meaningful. It's easier to make oneself comfortable. The fact is that there are so many people without water, electricity and food. We don't appreciate it. We are not aware how poor people can be. We don't appreciate many things as long as we have them.
Now a new thought by P. Coelho: " The divine genious hides himself in the detailes of Creation."
I thought it over and decided to add an appendix to my blog- a joke. When I read through my blog it seems a bit sad and serious. Sometimes, a joke can raise your spirits. Here you have one:
The situation takes place during the time of Communism. One man had a shop and a talking parrot. She always said: Death for Stalin, Death for Bierut. Someone was stuck by it and let Communists know about that. The Communist authorities wanted to bring the owner of that parrot to justice. The unlucky owner before going to court, went to confession and told a priest about his problem. The priest suggested an idea: He will give the owner his own parrot , which obviously doesn't say: Death for Stalin, Death for Bierut! The poor owner took the priest's parrot instead of his own to court. The judge wants to know if that is really true that the parrot says such things, so he encourages her and says: Death for Stalin, Death for Bierut! No anwer from the parrot. Then the jury repeats repeats the same. Again no answer from the parrot. At last, all the people present repeat: Death for Stalin, Death for Bierut! and in the end the parrot opens her beak and says: " Listen Jesus, how your crowd is begging You.

Narcissuses1

The narcissuses I would call fabulous. They are not like real flowers but plants taken straight from a fable. The lines are unusual, the shapes are as well. What I like most are the colours which are so eyecatching.
Now, about changing yourself. I suppose you want to change something in your life or in the world. There is always something we don't like, something disturbing. It's hard to say but there are things, views or people we cannot change. The fact is simple: We don't often have impact on many things. The person you can change is only you. You can only start with yourself and demand from yourself.
Pawlikowska suggests an exercise: Start by changing your one drawback, only one. Try to change it step by step. Don't give up. Each day you start a new fight. It's like doing exercise. When you do it every day, your mind will get used to it. It's about exercising your strong will.
I must confess to you that I started working on myself. The thing I want to change or improve is gratitude. I want to feel it. I want to be greatful for my body, mind, life, the way I eat, drink. I'm not sure but gratitude is the centre of eastern philosophies. Practising gratitude is essential. I must say that it's not easy for me but I try.
Today, a new thought by P. Coelho:
" God, closing the door for us, leaves an open window."

"Tulips1"

This drawing was done according to a photo taken together with a packet of tulip bulps. Luckily, I could take it from a shop for free. What I like most in this are the colours. They are so sharp, almost dazzling depicting the beauty of the tulips. I'm fond of them. Especially those with parrot shapes and hues. They are really impressive. If you feel like looking at them, look through my site for flowers. There you can see my favourite plants.
Today, I want to share with you with my thoughts. I wonder why I do this. I mean constantly drawing without any success. However, Flickr and Etsy are my personal achievements. On my blog you can find the necessary links. I raise my spirits thinking what van Gogh said about paintings.( You probably know that he sold only one in his lifetime.) I quote: " I believe that the price of my paintings will exceede the price of paints and paintbrushes." This is my motto.
Pawlikowska says that it is the most important thing to have a passion in your life. Passion provides meaning to your life. It makes you feel as a whole. Drawing is my greatest hobby. Perhaps in the future my works of art will be sold like hot buns.
Today a new thought by P. Coelho:
" When the heart sets on a journey in search of dreams , it will never suffer because each moment of that way makes it closer to God and Eternity."
Thanks for your time, Ela.

" A water lily"

This drawing was done according to a photo from China. In China there are water gardens with beautifully carved buildings - pagodas. They are well-preserved and rebuilt , because during the World War II they were devastated and destroyed. Pagodas reflect harmony and peace.
You also have to make peace with yourself. How to do it? By accepting the way you are and changing your drawbacks if it's possible. First of all, to achieve the peace of mind you have to turn off your internal critic. That is the voice that judges your every move. It prompts you that you are imperfect, unworthy of anyone's attention, ugly and lazy. Your task is to quit his actions. When he says: You could do something better, say to yourself: I did what I could and the best I could. Try to silence him. If you let him rule, you will always feel insecure and unhappy. In psychology that critic is called "an internal parent".He acts the same way as the internal critic. The point is that it is important to do the other way round. Even if you are lazy your mind is still working. Your body doesn't get rest even for a minute. You still feel , think and breathe.
Today I 've found a new golden thought by P. Coelho to raise your spirits:
" Each day of life is like a dark night. Nobody knows what will happen in a minute though he goes forward. Because he trusts. Because he belives."

" The lobster in the grey background"

This drawing did't actually turn out well. I'm sorry to say this. However, it depends on your taste. This lobster is also from Galaphagos. It's not as impressive as the previous one. It looks like an animal. At least, it is comforting. I'm glad to see such drawings on my blog, because they make it more diverse, interesting in a way.
Now, let's talk about B. Pawlikowska - she is my obsession and I'm gonna follow her advice. You know what. I suppose you don't even ralize how happy you are. First of all, because you are alive and that is the most precious gift. Life is the most expensive treasure you can imagine. How happy you are with your two legs, hands, a healthy heart, liver or lungs. You don't probably appreciate it. You will see how happy you are when you finally lose it.
It's like living with a goat. Do you know that story? Once upon a time a man had a large family and a house to live in with a very small space to move about. He complained that it was so hard for him to live in such a house with so many people at one place. A wise man gave him the following piece of advice: Buy a goat and let it be a part of your family for a year. After one year the unhappy man got rid of the goat and found out how big was his house from that moment on and how much space he gained. This story is by A. de Mello. It's wise, isn't it?
Today a new piece of wisdom by P. Coelho:
" The warrior of light can perceive the miracle of life and fight to the end for the matter he belives in. When he wins , he is able to listen to the sounds of music coming from the sea."

" A lobster"

" A lobster" - the drawing is quite nice and dynamic. You can see the dynamic lines made with soft pastels. It makes you feel that the lobster is moving about. I also like the colours - red and yellow. You know what, lobsters are carnivorous. I wasn't aware of this. They could even eat the members of the same species. The photo of the lobster was taken on Galaphagos. I'm proud of it because in fact I'm not good at depicting animals especially those covered in fur.
I started from Galaphagos and I will move on to the philosophy of the warrior by B. Pawlikowska. The warrior accepts himself and counts only on himself. People are not greatful and one cannot look forward to their help. You are the one who is precious and capable of helping yourself. Only you know your needs and yourself best. After reading this you might realize that Pawlikowska's theory is entirely self - centered. However, the fact is that the positive energy devoted to you has an influence on others. When you love yourself then that love impacts others. In a way you are getting more warm-hearted towards other people. It's like a circle, a chain reaction. I suggests Pawlikowska's exercise: Stand before a mirror and say: I do like myself, I do accept the way I am. Do it as long as you gonna believe it. It really works. Have a try
I made a decision to add " a golden thought" by P. Coelho each day. He also introduces the idea of the warrior. Here is his clue:
" To fulfill his dreams the warior of light has to have strong will and entirely devote himself to the matter"

A view of Galaphagos

Now, again about journeys. This time about Galaphagos. The photo attracted my attention because it was so colouful and the colours were unusual i.e. yellows, oranges. What I like most is the colour of the water in the background. It's so sky blue that you probably feel like jumping into it. I'm sometimes lost for words how this world is beautiful, diverse and rich.
B. Pawlikowska- my mentor- has seen a lot, travells almost around the world. She gained knowledge necessary to be a happy man, a fulfilled one. According to her, you are the most important person in the world together with your wishes, desires and dreams. If you want to be happy, you have to fulfill your dreams- be a fighter, a stubborn one. The point is that you shouldn't look at other people, be jealous of them, hate them or diminish them. It only drains your energy. To fulfill your dreams you have to focus on your goal and do what you can to reach it. Get rid of hatred, jealousy, sorrow, because they are like unwanted luggage in your life. It's sometimes hard I know that. It's easy to let oneself hate and pick on other people. I had time in my life when I gave vent for hatred a lot. It's pointless I shall say. It makes you feel like a piece of garbage. I wonder why I'm saying such wise things to you - because in fact I'm very weak but perhaps you won't make my mistakes.
Thanks for devoting your time for me, Ela

"A Mexican woman"

I was happy to receive a photo album for my birthday. The album was on adventures. I could find there photos from many different countries. I'm fond of sharp colours that's why maybe I chose photos from Mexico. Here you can see a drawing depicting a Mexican woman. The fascinating fact about this is that even at high altitudes Mexican people wear beautifully patterned clothes as if they were dressed to go to church. Sharp blues, reds, yellows that's what I like most.
Now, I will preach a little bit about self-acceptance by B. Pawlikowska. Why do I do it. Maybe in this way I will help some of you or it will be a kind of therapy for me. Here we go. When you accept yourself then you don't look for respect or recognition in others. Pawlikowska gives an interesting example: When you love someone and say that your life and you don't mean anything without him or her how it is possible to love you when you don't exist without your loving partner. You have to take care of yourself. Try to respect and understand yourself. When you don't pay attention to yourself then who's going to do it. Sometimes I think that I will give away everything to the person I love, but when I do it what will left. Mind you , you will feel such a void when you are forsaken. That's sad but true.
I've heard another theory similar to this one. When you are alone you have to build your own castle ( your personality), improve it in order to attract a lonely knight- your man. He won't be interested in you, when he sees a shabby building. Am I right? How you can improve and build your own castle - you. By expanding your horizons, by taking care of what you eat, think - always positively. It's not easy but it is feasible. Have a try and I will do the same.
Thanks for devoting your time for me, Ela.

A Mexican girl

" A Mexican girl" - this drawing depicts a little girl dressed in colourful clothes, typical tibal clothes. I've always been fascinated by the Mexican culture, its spicy cuisine, fashion, sharp pinks, reds and blues. The drawing is not flawless cause the face of the girl is crooked but nothing is perfect.
Now I will move on to a different subject and say something about being a fighter. Yesterday, I made an introduction to this notion and asked you if you are a fearless fighter in your life. It's a tricky question 'cause everyone has his ups and downs. You already know that I'm a half-fighter, ready to fight when I'm forced to do so. What is needed to be a fighter? First of all, you have to accept yourself and have a positive attitude towards yourself. What does it mean? It means that you shouldn't look for acceptance around you and wait for somebody's apraisal. You have to accept what is good in you - your advantages and try to change what you find disturbing.
Pawlikowska suggests a simple exercise: Try to talk with yourself: question answer. Be frank. Only you can figure out who you are and what you want in your life. You are the one who knows yourself best and only you can help yourself.
Thanks for your attention, Ela

A fighter's nature

Today I will start with the drawing: "A Mexican boy". I like the colours and the fact that it is something unusual - a boy dressed in a fancy hat. I associate it with travel and adventure. Something new, something curious, something joyful.
This is the point where I will ponder the thoughts of my mentor B. Pawlikowska - a restless traveller. I will start with the notion of a fighter - her notion. Who is a fighter. Well it is a man who faces the music, who is active and has no fear. Man is not born as a fighter. You have to make an effort to be one. A fighter doesn't impose himself on anyone. He is free and has a goal which is positive and doesn't harm anyone. He fulfills his dreams respecting others. Are you a fighter in your life or just a passive lazy bones? As far as I'm concerned sometimes I fight for something but quickly give up. One needs to be strong and brave to overcome difficulties. I wish all of you strenght and hope against hope in your life. While reading Pawlikowska's books I'm learning lots of thing abot life. I recomend them to you. Have a try.
Best wishes, Ela

I made a decision to add some comments every day just for pleasure. It's like a therapy. It purifies the mind and maybe my thoughts or pieces of advice will help others.
I had a birthday several days ago and luckily I got a birthday present. I was delighted to see that I received numerous books by B. Pawlikowska. Maybe you have no idea who she is. I can tell you that she is a traveller, writer,a journalist and first of all a very wise woman. Her wisdom comes from her experience. She went through many bad events (anorexia, bulimia, rape) and as a result she drew conclusions. I'm trying to understand what is self-acceptance, how to pursue my goals and how to love myself. She tries to clarify all of it to me. Pawlikowska is a tireless traveller, her destination is the Amazon jungle. She is trilled listening to the sounds of the tropical forest and I'm following her in her journey. Each day I'm going to share with you what I 've found in her books. I hope it will be fascinating for you as well as for me
Now a slight change of the topic. I mean a new drawing. Drawing a human body is quite a tricky task for me. The difficulty consists in the fact that it has different shades and capture it is a hard job. Here you can see a naked woman with hair in a mess. I like it because it is so feminine and bouyant.

HELLO ONCE AGAIN

It's quite a long time since I started running my blog. It is fairly diverse, full of various drawings and anyone can find something to admire. It's my passion, my pride and my greatest hobby. Some people claim that if something doesn't bring any money then it's worthless. The opposite is the case. To me, art is well sold when it is acceptable and admired by the crowd. When it is not then an artist dies from hunger living below the poverty line. The world is such a place where the crowd decides what is good and nice. It can't necessarily be so. It's misleading and depends on one's taste.
I devote my time to what I like, maybe temporarily it doesn't bring any profits but in the long run it will turn out. I took a break for holidays. You can check it out by looking at the dates. However, now I'm coming back with a new series of drawings, diffrent as usual. Luckily, I received a new album on adventures by a publisher and I did some drawings from it i.e. a lobster, a view of Galapagos and many others.
I hope you will enjoy looking through the pages of my site. Good luck.
P.S. If you have any comments then please share it with me.

Beallara "Tahoma Glacier Green"

This is a hybrid characterised by spider shapes. The leaves look like spider legs. This is a flower very tolerant. It can be cultivated in a warm space as well as in a glasshouse. The flowers of the orchid are 10 centimetres long in diameter. The single stem of this orchid can possess up to 8 flowers.

Paphiopedilum "Chiquita"

This species resembles P."Longuevilles". It also possesses a small rosy bag for insects to pollinate. It is also very attractive as far as the colours are concerned.

Paphiopedilum "Lebaudyanum"

This is one of the old hybrids of the species P. haynaldianum and P. philippinese which is looked for and not easy to find. Paphiopedilum is a big plant with long, green leaves. there are many flowers growing on the stem which open at the same time.

Phragmipedium "Longeville"

This orchid is interesting because it possesses a little rosy bag by means of which it attracts insects. This part of the orchid is different in different species.

Phalaenopsis schilleriana

I talked my mother into buying a book on orchids for me. It was not so cheap but the deal was made and I finally bought it. It was my inspiration to draw new, fascinating flower species. The first one was this orchid species with grand , pink flowers on thin stems. What I found out from the book is that it is not actually true that the orchid needs a warm, humid climate. In fact some of them grow beautifully on mountain slopes close to the freezing point.

Hydrangea and pears

This study consists of a flower and fruit. What I don't like in it is the vicious green of the flower. It changes the focus of the picture attracting attention to the middle of the work. In general, I like the shapes of the pears. They look like real fruit and the choice of shapes is also appropriate.

Hydrangea with briar-rose

This picure is an example of pastels plus pencil. I blent them together and something interesting was created. The line in pencil showed the shapes of the petals expanding in different directions. The picure seems to move.

Honeysuckle behind an ornamented gate

This picture shows the charm of the decorative old gate and honeysuckle whith its seductive smell. The flowers were a challenge for me because of their oblong and detailed shapes. I took pleasure in drawing them. The article in the magazine I took the photo from was in fact about ornamented gates not about flowers.

Virginia creeper behind a steel prop

This picture I find interesting because of the set of autumnal colours. It shows the beauty of the autumn. The steel prop adds magic to it. I like red, yellow and all the possible blends on the leaves. My new idea was to create different frames- white instead of black ones which some find eyecatching.

The primrose-study3

The primrose study in black. I used colourful black which is a blend of black and other colours. What I find interesting is that the primrose seems to be fragile and delicate.

The primrose- study2

The primrose study is with the presence of yellow. Everything has already been explained. I have nothing to add.

Primrose- study 1

Now, I'm trying to expand my vocabulary in order to display my new works in detail. I set about drawing flowers 'cause it is my hobby and they are very graceful. First, I want to introduce the primrose study1. Each study of the primrose is different in the choice of colours and the set consists of 3 examples. This one is in green. The pictures are diminished on purpose. The smaller they are the easier they are to make. I've heard a praise that they are quite something. It is up to you what you think about them.

Moshio

Hello! Long time no see. This time I have the great set of new pastel drawings. I took up drawing flowers only. I find it less tiresome than for example depicting faces. The photo I want to present is Moshio. This is a plant species putting out leaves on the shore of Lake Maggiore in Italy. It is ,in my opinion, stunning. In the first place there are the blooming flowers whereas there are the muted colours in the background. To me it resembles the lotus. I mean the petals and the shape of the flower as well. Enjoy watching though I hardly see anybody on my site. That's a pity.

The photo is a portrait of a self-made woman Marta Gessler. She owns a restaurant and is quite successful but it was not always so. In the beginning she had to overcome different obstacles and face the music. I like her chubby face. It seems to me very buoyant. I took pleasure in drawing her.

Figure study- the front

This is the continuation of the series below. The set consists of 3 picures presenting a woman's body from a different angle. This one shows the front of the woman.

Figure study- the side

This is the continuation of the previous picture. I explained everyting below.

Naked woman- face

The photo I found in a woman's magazine. There were different pictures of one woman from a different angle. It gave me a chance to study a female body. It is interesting that the body is not flat and having only one shade but the reverse is the case- there are so many shades that it is so tricky to capture them. I'm sometimes low on colours to finish the sketch.
